Sure, this isn’t breaking any new ground in the design department–but, sometimes the simplest ways are the best.

Check out graphic designer Geoffrey Mandel’s Firefly/Serenity-related work:

He’s done a load of other TV and sci-fi related work, too. Apparently he wrote and illustrated the book of Star Trek star charts–which, sadly, I own. I wonder if we could convince him to give the same treatment to everyone’s favorite sci-fi western.

D’Oh!

I, too, can admit when I am wrong.

It’s been brought to my attention that I misidentified the artist of Grant Morrison’s previous Batman story arc. Tony Daniels did not draw the “Batmen of Many Nations” arc. That arc was, in fact, drawn by J. H. Williams, II.

Thanks, Tom. And apologies to Mr. Williams.

TV Guide “covers” Heroes

November 6, 2007 · Leave a Comment

After last night’s episode, I’m suddenly a bit more optimistic that Heroes might be able to recapture the magic of its first season. In honor of this news, I bring you Newsarama’s story about TV Guide’s four Heroes covers, each drawn by a different comic book artist–including Tim Sale, whose art appears on the show in the form of Isaac’s (and Peter’s and Sylar’s) prophetic paintings.

This one’s my favorite:
